Visit in this experience the EuroVelo 8, known as “Mediterranean Route”. One of the 17 long-distance cycling routes that make up the EuroVelo network. With approximately 7,500 kilometers, it connects Cadiz, in southern Spain, with the island of Cyprus, crossing the province of Castellón and countries such as France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Greece and Turkey.
This route offers a unique experience for cycling tourism lovers, combining spectacular coastal scenery, historic cities and a rich cultural diversity. In addition to being an itinerary to discover the beauty of the Mediterranean, it promotes sustainable mobility and responsible tourism, making it an ideal option for those seeking adventure, nature and heritage in a single route.
In this experience, you will be able to visit it with an electric mountain bike that you will pick up at Ekobikesin Peñíscola.
The route has some very hard ramps at the beginning and in the intermediate part, which can reach 15%, so if you want to fully enjoy this experience and you do not have a high level of cycling, we recommend renting an electric bike.
You will pass by the Badum Tower, and beaches such as the Pebret, Barranco de Irta or La Basseta, combining wide dirt tracks with concrete sections with restricted traffic.
You can make a mid-route stop at the Sierra de Irta Restaurant or at the Ribamar Campsite, where you will find services for cyclists, before returning along the same road between curves, viewpoints and incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea.
The roundtrip route is about 32 kilometers with 400 meters of positive elevation gain.
