Description of the route

We invite you to feel Castellón with all your senses through the Orange Blossom Route, a route that crosses the province from north to south, near the sea, and is named after the orange blossom, typical of the area. During this route, you will enjoy the spectacular beaches of Castellón, such as those of Peñíscola, Oropesa del Mar and Gurugú, ideal for water sports all year round. You can also contemplate the Columbretes Islands, visible from the highest points of the province. The route has a high difficulty, not because of its slopes, but because of the 130 km that will take you from Vinaròs to Almenara, passing through Peñíscola, Alcossebre and Benicàssim, with strong winds along the way. Along the way, you will enjoy water activities such as snorkeling and jet skiing. The route ends at Almenara-Casablanca beach, known for its white sand. If you start the route in Vinaròs, we recommend the Restaurant Raúl Resino (Michelin star) or Fernandos for seafood tapas. For accommodation, you can opt for the Hotel Roca Restaurant or the Hotel RH Vinaròs Aura, the latter near the sea.

Castellón is a unique destination that captivates with its gastronomy that fuses products from the orchard and fresh seafood, while its coastal and mountain landscapes offer an unparalleled sensory experience. The province invites you to enjoy its sea and fresh air, practicing adventure sports such as paragliding or cycling, thanks to its mountainous geography and beautiful natural landscapes. With a wide range of cycling routes for all levels, Castellón has established itself as an ideal destination for cyclists, with events such as the Volta Castelló and international competitions, reflecting its growing momentum towards cycling tourism. In addition, its traditional festivals, such as the Magdalena or the entrance of bulls and horses of Segorbe, reinforce its cultural identity, characterized by solidarity and community feeling.

Costa de Azahar beaches: With beaches such as Peñíscola, La Concha in Oropesa del Mar and Gurugú in Castellón de la Plana, ideal for enjoying the sun and practicing water sports. Columbretes Islands: A volcanic archipelago close to the coast, visible from several high points, offering activities such as boat trips and diving. Sierra de Irta Natural Park: An impressive park where the mountain meets the sea, perfect for hiking and enjoying nature. Peñiscola Castle: A Templar castle overlooking the coast, famous for its historic fortress and stunning sea views.

Hotel Roca Restaurante for just over 60€ a night (Carretera Nacional 340 Km) a little far from the center of town.

Hotel RH Vinaròs Aura (Calle del Mar, 2), for a slightly higher price you can stay near the sea.
